The University of Utah began its “#ByTheNumbers” campaign in March 2017. Each animated infographic features a number that highlights the U’s student success or elevates the prestige of the university.
The infographic’s powerful design lies in its focus on one number, which challenges the content team to be succinct. To keep the series coordinated, the designer developed a “By the Numbers” word mark, which can be seen at the top of each graphic. Additionally, the university’s block U logo is at the bottom, branding it as University of Utah content. And the header, logo and large number make it easy to identify the graphics as part of a series, the color palette, font and movement change with each graphic, offering flexibility to the designer and keeping the look fresh.
