Reservation Request Guidelines

  • Lampposts, frame signs, and banner poles on campus are reserved for promoting university events and activities.
  • Access to the posts is prioritized with institutional events (e.g., Homecoming, Founders Day, Plazafest, etc.) having first priority. Second priority is assigned to university-related events (e.g., Athletics, ASUU, UMFA, UMNH, Women’s Week, etc.). Commercial non-campus organizations in partnership with university groups are third priority.
  • Reservation requests are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Banner poles can be scheduled one term prior to the expected use.  Example: Banner poles for use during fall semester can be scheduled beginning the first day of summer term.
  • In accordance with University of Utah policies and procedures, signs, notices, and posters shall not be attached to trees, buildings, walls, or other university structures unless otherwise expressly authorized by the Scheduling Office.  Messages or slogans of any kind shall not be painted or otherwise written on trees, building, sidewalks, grounds, fountains, walls or other university structures or surfaces, or on the personal property of others (PPM 8-9, Title IV, B).
  • See the map of each light pole, permanent frame signs, and banner pole location.
  • Select your locations based on availability, fill out the entire reservation request form. Submit your artwork for brand approval.

*Note regarding lawn signage. Lawn signs must be placed in tree wells and not where they obstruct the outdoor space management crews.
